Grand Season Hotel is located in a predominantly Malay and Indonesian migrant workers area.Only a few chinese there. The Chinese New Year ambience will be at ChinaTown or Petaling Street. This is where you can view the Chinese new year Lion dance performance/s.As the malaysian police only issue the permits or licenses for this lion dance during this occasion only. The rest of the time it is ban.China Town is about 10-20 ( depends on traffic) minutes drive from the said hotel.Or use the Monorail from ChowKit station to Maharajalela station. To go to Port Dickson theres buses from PuduRaya which is near ChinaTown.Restu Express buses leave from the bus terminal in Port Dickson and go to Kuala Lumpur and Seremban.

Hehe...funny u should ask this...About 28% of the total population of Malaysians are Chinese. So if u r in KL, u will definitely see Chinese everywhere. The city takes pride in celebrating festivals of different races and religions with a gusto, unlike predominantly Chinese countries where the Chinese New Year celebration is not as intense, perhaps due to the fact that Chinese overseas tend to be more patriotic and want to observe their traditions and values. Yeah, u get a pretty good atmosphere wherever u r in KL on the 5th day.Mind u, the city can b a little quiet on the first 2 days as most Chinese would have gone back to their respective states to celebrate the festival with their families outside the city. Thats the best time to drive in the city. People of other races also take advantage of the season and head off to the countryside and "balik kampung" as they call it.Have fun and "Gong Xi Fa Cai". Oh yes and another thing, Chinatown is not that very far from where u will be staying. Just hop on the monorail and alight at Maharaja station and walk into Chinatown, or take a cab, its not that expensive.
