The most interesting inscription I've personally read was "To T. In secrets sheltered. K" My imagination ran wild with this. Who were T and K? What was their secret? A love affair? A crime? A tragic accident? I still wonder...

Funny You should ask. I was at the golden nugget flea market in New Jersey recently, and took a moment to look at a stunning emerald ring set in white gold. the inscription blew me away, it was inscribed "Poop in Your soup goes gobbly goop! Love always Clem Campbell, 1888." I was needless to say stunned, but I didn't buy the ring, I needed an emerald ring that day but it just wasn't the right one.

Hmm my favorite would have to be a bit of a tired cliche. "One Ring to Rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them together and in the darkness bind them" What can I say? I'm a geek.
