I prefer the original closing scenes of Obi-Wan & Yoda acknowledging the original Anakin.

Where can I get the DVD with the original ending still intact and uncorrupted?

Its just WRONG!!!

Because Luke never knew his father when his father was his age, the discontinuity is an abomination.

Lucas's philosophy is "screw the fans! these movies are mine! I'll do what I want!" I don't think it's available on DVD. I have it on VHS with the original ending.

Since the movies were created so far apart, there were a lot of discontinuities between the first three and the last three. Changing the end of Return of the Jedi tied all of the movies back together.

I agree, however, that I liked the original ending better than the "revised" edition.

I wish I knew, I just feel that Lucas, even though its his vehicle, messed up the whole Star Wars prequels with certain storylines.Darth Maul could have stuck around, as far as I'm concerned.

hmm.... I don't know why. But now when you buy the DVDs individually, they come with the original theatrical version (no edits; the one they first played in theaters) as a bonus.

Lukas doesn't care about the fans, only the story and what these mean to him... i don't think you'll find it on dvd since the only ones on dvd are the modern ones. you can get it on vhs, i know they have it in that medium.

Yes but Anakin in that form was the pleasant good one. Darth Vader was just bad it gives it a better image I think.
