It will depend on their pitching. They have the best bullpen in the division, so that helps. They also have the best pitcher in the division (Roy Oswalt), so that helps. After Roy O in the rotation, you're looking at Jason Jennings (the winningest pitcher in Rockies history, which says something), Woody Williams (playing the part of Old Sage in place of Clemens), and a couple of young guys to be determined. Watch for Chris Sampson and Matt Albers or Fernando Nieve.
Offensively, the national media would lead you to believe that their only addition was Carlos Lee. But Lee makes their whole lineup better. Plus they got Mark Loretta. We'll see a full season out of Luke Scott (who hit .336 after being called up in late July last year). Chris Burke adds power to the lineup that his predecessor in CF (Willy Taveras) did not have.
And while the Cubs got better, they need to pick up about 17 games in the standings just to finish with the 83 wins that won this division last year. It'll take more than 83 wins in 2007. More like 93-97 wins.
So while Houston should win the division, no one can guess what will happen in the playoffs. Who would have picked the Cardinals to win the World Series after squeaking out on top of the worst division in baseball last year? No one.

Playoffs maybe, but world series, i dint see it happening. The younger pitcher have to come through for the, Clemens might not play, (i think he will) and Pettitte, i understand those two are aging, but they are very good pitchers nonetheless. They have to keep hitting as well, there were just some times where the offense was non existant. Ensberg has to have a good spring, and should bounce back from that shoulder injury very well. Biggio will have another fine season getting his 3000 th hit i might add. Berkman will have another .300 30+ 100 year. Asmus with the gold glove, and Jennings was a decent add. If all goes well, it'll be Houston and Milwaukee, maybe St. Louis edges in.

The Astros have a chance. The National League Central is wide open. Many believe the Cubs are better this year, and they are. But the pitching is still suspect after Zambrano. And they still have no closer.
The Cardinals have lost a lot of pitching also. And last year - they were not world beaters.
The Brewers and Reds are decent, but not great by any means.
Houston last year put on a late season rush. Rodger will be gone this year, but really, he did not contribute that much last year. He was a distraction according to my source (coach with the team).
So they have as good of a chance as anyone. But they have to avoid long winless streaks.

Their rotation in basic terms would not make it for me. they have countless the products of the puzzle. Who does not choose Berkman, Lee, and those 2 youthful ones in acceptable seem promising. it may take a leap back three hundred and sixty 5 days for Ensberg on the dish, an same for Lidge because the closer, and for the rotation to overachieve. then you genuinely'd nevertheless ought to cope with the Brewers and their tremendous rotation, and the Cubs and their expertise. in spite of everything they wont be overtaking the Brews this season; inspite of if each little thing else falls in position, the 'Stros rotation isn't alright to get them to the playoffs.

If they can sign the self absorbed Roger Clemens it would increase their chances. As of today the back end of their rotation would need for someone to step up big and help Oswalt with the wins. If this happens they could be a possible wild card team.

The Central division is wide open. Anyone in the division could win it. They never have declared a favorite for the league that I am aware of. So may the best team win.

There's always a chance. It depends upon your pitching. If it stays healthy all year you have a shot. Losing Clemens and Pettite may hurt.
