Yes, I'm a Cowboy fan and Jerry Jones just keeps on screwing the team and the fans! Dallas is taking one step up and three steps back.

I think they need a better coach than wade Philips I was hoping it would be Norv turner. Norv knows how to deal with Jerry Jones since he has worked with the Cowboys before. Jerry Jones likes to take over the team. He like to run the team. Many coaches would rather run the team which I agree with Jerry Jones should let the coach run the team. That is part of the reason they have had so many coaches lately. They should of kept Jimmy Johnson but Jimmy Johnson left partly because Jerry wouldn't let him run the team the way he wanted too. Wade Phillips is in for a rude awakening. I was kind of hoping that they hired Bill Cowher but he has indicated that he wants to take at least a year off from coaching plus he would want more money than Jerry Jones would be willing to pay. Jerry Jones paid Bill parcells a lot of money and he let him run the team but since it didn't produce a super bowl I am sure he is going back to his old ways.

I agree with you all the way. Head coach for the Dallas Cowboys is a big deal. I live in Dallas and i think that this is a terrible decision.
In my opinion it should have been Ron Rivera as head coach, Jason Garrett as Offensive Coordinator, and maybe the Phillips guy at defensive coordinator. But i certainly would not want him as my head coach. Looks like its time for some more 5-11 seasons if you ask me.

Record — 45 wins, 35 losses

Top 10 defensive rankings — 2, Denver ‘93 (10th overall) and Buffalo ‘99 (2nd)
Average defensive ranking — 14th
(*all rankings are for points scored or allowed)
In two seasons as the Chargers’ defensive coordinator, Wade Philips has delivered outstanding results.
He is the architect of San Diego’s 3-4 defense, and last season that defense led the NFL against the run, holding opponents to a mere 84.3 yards per game. Two years ago - Phillips’ first in San Diego - the Bolts were even stingier, allowing only 81.7 yards per game to rank third in the league. Phillips’ defense is centered around defensive tackle Jamal Williams, who was selected to play in his first-career Pro Bowl following the 2005 season.
One of the outstanding feats of Phillips’ defense in 2005 was holding three different opponents to less than 40 yards rushing: Oakland (39 yards), Philadelphia (24) and Indianapolis (24). That hadn’t happened in San Diego since 1965 and it was only the third time it occurred in team history.
The Bolts’ aggressive defense also cranked out 46 sacks last season, its most since 1992. The Chargers and Indianapolis tied for the fifth-most sacks in the league. Rookies Shawne Merriman and Luis Castillo combined for 13.5 sacks in 2005, the most by any rookie duo in the NFL.
I dont care what the coach's name is but with a resume like that ill take it, also retreads are bad? Like Dungy, Billichick, Gruden and Vermiel? retread have only won 6 of the past 8 super bowls, who wants to win a super bowl?

Whoever the Cowboys hired to be their next Head Coach, that is a decesion that rests on the owner, Jerry Jones, & no one else in the Cowboys Organization. If their comfortable in the choice of hiring Wade Phillips, so be it! So let the Cowboys either succeed or choke with their choice of a Coach in the 2007 season.

Phillips is a defensive mind who is more or less an interim headcoach. They're going to try and groom Garrett for the long haul. I dont think he's a bad decision. Look at the teams he's left...with the exception of the Broncos, none of the teams amounted to much and the falcons came the closest.

Wade Phillips is going to be a buffer coach until Jerry Jones gets another good coach like Cowher. Phillips is going to be Jerry Jone's puppet.

Wade isn't bad. He's not great, but not bad. I doubt he's their long-term coach, just a stop-gap to prep that young guy they have in the wings at OC? I think it is.
In any case, don't let Wade's records fool you. He's not good at head coaching, but not bad at it either. He is; however, a superb defensive mind and should improve Dallas's defense. He favors an aggressive, attack-style scheme based around pressure and complex blitz packages that should work well with Dallas's personnel. He isn't; however, a good motivator and is a mediocre teacher.

Ambassador #07 WR. continually informative and impartial and friendly. He even tried to make peace with Kate Gosselin (that did no longer bypass properly). although, DCFF merely spoke back my question a pair of million/2 an hour in the past. that could have been the funniest answer i've got ever seen at right here!

Well, when Cowher is ready to coach next season, after Phillips bombs, the Cowboys will be first in line for Cowher...
