You should buy Nice 'n Clean Anti-static Cleaning wipes. They are available at Wal-mart (In the computer accessories section) for about $5.00.
It works great.

If your screen is an LCD screen - here are some Do's and Don'ts:

DONT:
-use a paper towel to clean it
-use ammonia-based products (harsh solvents can damage the film on the screen)
-some alcohol-based products can harm the screen too

DO:
-use a micro fiber cloth to clean the screen
-use an ammonia/alcohol free product to clean the screen
-I suggest http://www.pixelclean.com
- If you purchase pixelclean, try using DD020 at check-out, i did and got 10% off.

Good luck.

If you're talking about an LCD screen, read the manufacturers recommendations. What I normally use is a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) and distilled water. Clean with a cotton ball, then dry off with another cotton ball. Don't use too much pressure or you may scratch the surface.

First try a soft cloth (cotton or microfiber) dampened with water. Then try it with a soft soap solution (liquid hand soap) If that does not work try the same cloth with iso-propyl alcohol. Do not use: Paper towels as they are actually quite abrasive. Dish detergent. It has abrasive particles in it. Glass cleaners or other household cleaners as these can have agressive chemicals in them.

A simple damp cloth is fine. Just so long as no drips get down into the casing, you're fine.

WARNING: Do not use glass cleaner or anything like that! Just simple water, nothing else!

Damp cloth with water when screen is turned off is what I use. It seems to work well and doesn't damage the screen on flat panel or regular monitors.
