I just changed my address, and now I want to switch from non-partisan to one of the actual parties. How to do?

Each State has different rules, but in any State you can fill out a new voter registration card and send it in at any time. Unless it's too close to the date of the election, your new status should be recorded by the time you vote again. Post Offices generally have voter registration cards. So do the offices where you get your state driver's license.

In Kalifornia, you can no longer vote in both party's primaries by registering as "decline to state preference". That option was thrown out by the courts about a year after it was enacted. If you want to vote for Ron Paul, either register as a "decline to state" with republican leanings, or register as a republican. See the reference attached.
