I wore stay press trousers, crombie coat, arnold palmer shirts, monkey boots or doc martins, orange or red socks, tank top and sometimes a tie. I am a woman would you believe? I also wore cotton underwear that hardly ever matched. Bra's were sually too pointed to get everything in!! (somethings never change - I cant get everything in any of my underwear now!!) . On a dressy night I could be seen wearing a loud black and white check dress and long jacket with brogue shoes. We tended to dress for comfort and trend as opposed to sexy - yet again , nothing has changed much for me. O happy days

Osh Kosh B'Gosh was a big label in our house. Can't beat denim dungarees for cringe value when checkin out old photies.

Other stunning garments in my wardrobe over the years included hypercolour tshirts, wax jackets, 14-hole oxblood docs, frocks with massive white lacy collars... the colour peach featured a lot...just so u get the full picture, I have red hair...

I'm American, and when I was a teen we went through the "ripped jeans" phase, the "punk" phase, and earlier on, the girls went through the "Jennifer Beals in Flashdance" phase, with the leg warmers and the rest of it. I was never the one to bow to trends so I just kept on doing what I did, just regular clothes.

I am 60 years old, and when I was 16 my friends and I sat in a bath of water with our jeans on to shrink them so that they were skin tight.

For dance nights we had really flared skirts with loads of net petticoats that made them stand out. Some girls had hoops in a petticoat instead, but found when they sat down the hoop came up at the front exposing their pants. For posh nights out we had very tight pencil skirts which made it nigh on impossible to get on a bus; with these skirts we wore twin sets - matching jumper and cardigan.

Depends what you mean by young I suppose, but as a teenager I hit it lucky and got the full effects of the original Hippy movement, which meant basically you could wear virtually anything you liked, very bohemian!

Childhood - Pegged jeans, leggings, stirrup pants, oversized shirts of all kinds (T-shirts, button-downs, sweatshirts, etc.), slouch socks, Converse Chuck Taylors, LA Gears, penny loafers, hair scrunchies, Hypercolor T-shirts, French braids, rubber bracelets, Swatches, and big earrings.

Adolescence - Thermal shirts, flannel shirts, Doc Martens, slip dresses with baby tees underneath, Birkenstocks, overalls, Co-ed Naked T-shirts, Umbro shorts, Adidas Gazelles, wide-leg jeans, and alterna-chick silver rings on all of my fingers.
