Whoever told you that is ignorant. Condoms are the only form of birth control my husband and I have ever used, and when we decided to try for our daughter 6 1/2 years ago, we started trying in March and by April I was pregnant. We then used them again to keep from having another one til last May. We started trying in the last week of May, and were pregnant by the second week of June.

Condoms are the safest form of birth control, as no chemicals have to enter the bloodstream. I have an aunt who had heart problems due to using the pill, and another aunt who was unable to conceive for 8 years after using the pill for about 6 years.

Also, condoms are instant. With the pill and the shot and all the others, you're supposed to wait about a month before having unprotected sex. During that month, your doctor would tell you to use condoms as a backup.

And what exactly does "the initial stage of marriage" have to do with it? Some people get married at 18 after a month of dating, and others get married at 35 after dating for 10 years.

Using condoms only affects getting pregnant WHILE you are using them. It's not going to cause any long lasting problems.

What does marriage have to do with condoms?
But, if you`re trying to get pregnant, it`d be pretty obvious that you would want NOT to use condoms.

Condoms only create problems getting pregnant if they do not break and they are put on prior to entry.

Condoms won't damage your chances of conceiving as they are a barrier method of contraception and do nothing to the hormone levels in the body, unlike the contraceptive pill for example.

I don't even understand this question. People have used condoms for over a century. It bears no impact on fertility.

It is totally fine to use condoms. They have no impact on fertility or your chances of getting pregnant later.

They only keep you from getting pregnant. And for me, the best kind are Durex Avanti. They're non-latex and feel great, though a bit more expensive than other kinds.
