because her belly button doesn't look like a naval orange the way most women do ( i know, crazy, right? lol) I mean she thinks it should pop out (much like the timer on a turkey, huh) I told her I don't think all women get outties and that it isn't much of a big deal. Is it wrong for me to have such a nonchalant attitude regarding this, I did have an outtie with both my pregnancies?

The turkey comment is really funny! My mom made fun of me because she said the baby was like a butterball turkey - when the bellybutton popped out, he was done. I only got an outie with one of my 3 babies, and it was the last one.

Just tell her it's normal for a belly button to NOT pop out. It's also normal to not have that dark line down the middle of your belly. I didn't get that with any of my pregnancies. If she has a sense of humor, then no, your attitude is not wrong. If you can tell it's sort of hurting her feelings (pregnancy hormones...lol.) just apologize quickly and reassure her that she's fine.

I never had an outtie. It just has to do with how your body is made. I have a very deep belly button so it never popped, just got very shallow. Tell her that it's absolutely fine and it's not something that's "supposed" to happen, it's just something that happens to some people.

its not a big deal, I have 2 kids and never got an outtie. The doctor says some people get them, and some don't. If she is still worried, tell her to call the doctor, but it s fine.

Whether her belly button is an innie or outie, has nothing to do with the health of her pregnancy. As long as she's feeling the baby move everyday, she's not in any pain and she's not having any weird vaginal discharges, everything is okay.

I have a friend who's belly button didn't pop out and her baby was healthy but he only weighed 5 pounds 6 ounces, I don't think everybody's belly button pops out.

No your attitude should help to reassure her, but if she's really worried all she has to do is bring it up to her doctor at her next visit. I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first and everyone tells me how small I am, so I just asked my doctor and she measured my fundal height and said everything looks good. That's what doctors are for to answer all those questions you think might be silly or about stuff that is worrying you.

Mine never did - I have had an innie all my life, and I had an innie during my pregnancy - even in the 9th month!

Everyone is different - even in how your belly is. Tell her not to worry - the doctor would say something if there truly were something wrong.

From what i know it is somewhat norman to get an outie but I would not say there is a problem because it didn't pop......if she is going for her regular check ups then the docktor would have said something already, but if she is not and has concerns then my adise would be to tell her to go to a doctor

yep! my belly button never popped out. it got really flat, but it never stuck out any more than my belly. my son weighed 8 lbs, 2 oz, and was VERY healthy. your friend is fine, and you're a great friend for telling her not to worry about it.
