No, their biscuits are more like scones.
Still odd, perhaps, but then again, they eat yorkshire pudding with butter and jam (or jelly, as they say) - they call them "popovers".
And the strangest thing is... they both work.

Look around America. Too many have gravy on everything I think! I don't know about the biscuits being the same. I thought biscuits in GB were like our crackers. Here they are a bread like item that you can put butter on or jam or honey. Or gravy.

Serious answer: What Daljack is true about the biscuit, cookie, roll thing. Biscuits and gravy are delicious. I've had shepherds pie, you should try biscuits and gravy.
'Other' answer: Biscuits are just a medium for transporting the gray to the mouth.

If it helps the Americans who are trying to answer an English biscuit would be refered to as a cookie in the US so you can imagine why Brits get confused at the thought of cookies and gravy!

American biscuits arent't sweet like scones. They are generally called buttermilk biscuits-large and soft. They are perfect to split in half and load up with a ladle full of sausage gravy with country fried potatos on the side. I am making myself hungry. This is my favorite breakfast for any time of the day.

- because it tastes great!! No - America biscuits are not the same as British biscuits. British biscuits tend to be more thin and crunchy - like a cookie. American biscuits are more lke a muffin. Much fluffier and bread-like than a british buscuit.

That is mostly a southern thing, I think. I do not know if our biscuits are the same as British biscuits. Our are usually made from flour, sometimes buttermilk, would use them in place of an English muffin, bagel, or toast.

Because it's yummy. I believe British biscuits are similar to cookies or crackers. We do not put gravy on our cookies - lol. American biscuits are similar to a bread item - they are made with flour and baked in the oven. They are delicious with butter or margarine, jelly, honey, or with milk gravy.

I don't think the biscuits are the same. Ours are big and fluffy, kind of like a soft bread with a slightly crusty oustside.
And gravy is yummy on those...mmmmm (it's a rare treat for me, since it's so fattening.)

I'm an American...I've had gravy and I've had biscuits but never together.
A biscuit is flour, water, baking powder, a dash of salt & yeast I think.
It's made into a flat disk and baked in an oven.
It's like a flat roll.
I think your biscuits are our cookies.
You're probably more confused now...sorry.
