I am looking at getting a new cell. The phones I have narrowed down to are these.
Lg VX8300 $0.00
Lg VX8600 $50.00
Lg Choclate $75.00
The Lg's are with Verizon with whom I get a better company discount. I have never had Verizon service so I do not know how it compares to Cingular. The other phones are with Cingular who I presently have service with. These are the phones.
Sony Ericisson W810i $50.00
Sony Ericisson W300i $0.00
Which phone and service would be better?
I am trying to stay with in the $0-75.00 price range. So any other phone suggestions not listed would also be appreciated.

If you go Cingular (they have discounts for just about everything; if your company doesn't have a good one, try the company who your insurance is through, your college, your immediate family's companies, etc.), I would HIGHLY recommend the Samsung A707 Sync. It's a $300 phone for $50 bucks (rates even higher than the w810i). It has a 2MP camera, mp3, 3g data, external memory card slot, tactile music buttons (you don't actually push them, you put your finger on it and it lights up, like the chocolate) full multimedia capabilities, Yahoo! music, etc. I work for Cingular and it's the phone I got (and I had to pay Cost for it, around $300!), and I haven't regretted it.

Well, I work for Verizon so I'll try not to be too bias...

Lets start with phones:

8300-Superb reception, great stereo speakers on the side so you will definately hear the phone ring, and front access to the mp3 player is important. Don't really care for battery life on the 8300.

8600- A step up from the 8300 best thing about this phone IMO, is the battery life and the ability to fully read your txt msg. w/o having to open the phone (different from 8300), the one drawback is the fact that the antannae is internal so if your covering up your mouthpiece when talking your covering the antannae. If reception is not a problem where you live then you don't have to worry.

Chocolate- Same as 8600...excellent battery life internal antannae so be careful in rural areas. Chocolate is more of a novelty. I personally love them. There is a vast array of colors too, so they are fun. The front is touch sensitive very similar to an ipod, in fact im waiting for the lawsuit. Good phone.

Thing with Verizon is you're gonna get better coverage than Cingular because Cingular isnt available everywhere like VZW.

Well, thats the breakdown on the VZW side, maybe someone from Cingular can chime in.

I had Verizon..
lousy customer service for two and half years. wouldnt go back even if it were free..
Had customer reps hang up on me when ever I called about a problem..
Managers even worse. they seem to have not taught their reps, that customers are the sources of their business.
Cingular. I am scared of them only because I alwyas heard tht to try to get out of their contract is hell..
They wont let u, and they like to ruin your credit.
I now have T mobile- going on two years and I like it. I had AT and T for two years and loved that too...but AT and T merged with Cingular.
