I want to plan a trip to California for mid March ...

I have been to Cali before but i was really little - all i remember is La Hoya being beautiful - it was like a down town area with lots of shops and a beach....

Can anyone who lives in Cali or been there - tell me the best place to book my hotel ( city & which hotel )

What are some good attractions in the La Hoya / San Deigo area. I will be staying there for 4 nights.

Also how will the weather be around March?

any information about is much appreciated!

La Joya is very beautiful, however it is the 'ritzy' part of town. The Gaslamp district in downtown San Diego is always fun, or even Old Town. Another place that is fun is Seaport Village, it has lots of little shops, adorable. Also, Point Loma is lots of fun, near the lighthouse there is a tide pool area that you can check out. Lots of things to see.
As to best place to book your hotel...are you talking about in San Diego or in all of California? Either way, there are A LOT of places to stay and visit, so picking 'the best' is like picking a needle out of a haystack.
However, the weather will be nice here in March, maybe cool nights, but warm days. Hope this helps, and good luck!

The only thing I can say is what little I know. My parents use to live in San Jose. They had a house and it cost them about $90,000 for a pie shaped lot about 30 years or so ago. When my dad retired they moved to Hemet which is near San Diego and they found it a lot less expensive to live. I don't know the cost of living now but do a little work before you go. Contact a trusted realtor where you live now and ask him or her to do some checking on apartments, etc. where you plan to move. They should be able to give you some info. If not, check with the better business bureau or chamber of commerce. They should be able to give you some help. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of everything. I don't know how much help I've been.
