Not in the traditional sense of blood sucking beings that will kill you and turn you into one of them to stalk the night forever, but there are social vampires, that feed off the energy of others. If you have a friend or know anyone who you talk with a lot that leaves you feeling drained after talking with them all the time, they are a type of vampire, because you can't deal with their personality well and always dread seeing them.

Vampyrism is also a religion of sorts, where people worship the traditional stalkers of the night, sacrificing animals and drinking their blood, but I don't put much emphasis on that belief.

Nope, but there are some people who are whacked out enough to believe that they are vampires. There have been a couple of cults of personality that revolved around people who claim to be vampires, most notably a teenage cult in Florida that killed one of the member's parents.
Vampires are found in the folklore of many cultures, so I think that they exist in a way through those stories. A lot of deaths that would be attributed to tuberculosis would be filed as "vampire deaths" back in the day. Karl Marx wrote a lot about social vampires who sucked money from the proletariat working classes and got rich without working much. He was only using the vampire as a metaphor to make his point though.

Yes. Although they may be somewhat different than you might expect. Especially if that expectation involves them being much like how they have been protrayed in movies, literature and telelvision.

Those of us that have seen them, the real ones, are few and far between; mostly becasue not all of us recognized just what we were seeing either at the time, or later on.

Vampires are real but not in the hollywood sense of the world - but don't take my word for it. Look up Michelle Belanger, Don Henrie and the Black Veil....

Well, yes and no. No, you won't find people turning into bats, fog, or wolves just to stalk you for your blood. You will find outcasts that have created their own subculture where they mutually drink of their blood or drink animals blood. There is actually a diseases (porphyria I think) that makes people crave blood. There are also "psychic" vampires who believe they can suck the life force out of you...but that's up to you to believe them.

We do have Vampire bats. There are some sick people out there who would actually drink human blood. But can they turn into bats? That is not possible.
