It was a good show. And it was WB's, then CW's, top-rated comedy show. It's pretty quiet out there on why the cancel -- nothing at futoncritic or TV.com. There has been talk of another network picking up the show or a spin-off. Lifetime did well continuing Molly Dodd, and Fame fared OK with it's transition too, altho a production budget drop will probably occur. Wikipedia has this to say:

Future of Reba
It had been rumored for some time that The CW would order nine more episodes of Reba for a complete 22-episode sixth season, however, the show would not be renewed on that point.

Despite these rumors, on January 26 it was announced by The CW that nine more episodes would not be produced and that the series would conclude with a two-part series finale airing on February 18 on The CW. [1]

There is still a rumor floating around that the Lifetime network will produce a spin-off that focuses on Van and Cheyenne on their own, with the other stars making guest-appearances. The new show would be within the budget of the network.

I loved it too!!! It was the only sitcom I watch! My favorite was probably the one where Reba gets laser eye surgery, and Barbara Jean tries to help her out. HILARIOUS! But also loved Van as The Doofus on YouTube, and as an out of control soccer coach on the sidelines at Jake's game. LOL!!! The CW is retarded for canceling the only funny show it had!!!

I don't know of the reason they cancelled the show but I agree with you that it was a good show. Maybe low viewership.

I never knew exactly when it was on or it may have been at the same time I watch something else.

Now I watch it all the time on lifetime. It's great!

No TV show is going to last forever it's better to go out when the show still has quality scripts .
Buffy went out at the right time because there was no use in continuing the story .
Fans can cry all they want but when the ratings drop it really is time to end the show .

I agree with you...Reba was a good show. I only watched more than a couple episodes but was really surprised how good it was. I just never knew when it was on.

Reba was just not spicy enough for the narrow minded people who count.
