These people moved in next door and are supposedly buying that house pending the sale of their TRAILER. Please what can I do to get rid of them? They have been there a couple of months and in that time...
1. Cops and ambulance were called. The husband slashed his body and wrists with razors. This is not the first time they had cops at their home.
2. The wife smokes pot blatently. The child authorities took her kids. She had them stay at her sisters and was not supposed to see them but the sister brought the kids over to sleep at her house with all this going on. I called but don't know their last name.
3. There are coming and going all hours of the night.
4. The yard has debris and a fallen chimney.
I have already sent a letter to the property owners which is an out of state company. I already called the fire department regarding their chimney falling onto their lawn. What more can I do to get them out? Is there city ordinances I can check into? Help.

It's a house not a condo. The people still listed on the property is a company, which I looked up via city records. They said they are not paying them so I assume they will be going soon, but not soon enough.
In addition, other neighbors are calling on them too. It's not just me. One of my neighbor's just caught me outside and told me he called regarding the chimney and that is a violation. So fingers crossed.

Whoa!!! I wondered where my old neighbors went!!??!! So you are the lucky one huh.. Well I thought they would never leave either.. They stayed over a year and it was all of the above plus the husband shot up his van with the wife still in it.. and threw fish in my yard and shot the birds at my feeder. I came to like the comings and goings throughout the night because it meant they were at their address and not at mine.. digging in my garage and peering into my car for anything they might want to break a window to get. They finally were evicted from lack of paying the rent and I expect your people will be too. In the meantime you can call the Township office with violations of trash, vehicle storage of junque cars, grass that needs cutting, and of course you can always send those pesky sales people who are calling you.. to them! Maybe a trail of sales people at the door might keep them awake during the day huh? Make sure you don't use a traceable phone when requesting that basement finisher etc. to come over. Keep the faith.. this too shall pass..... :)

It is frustrating to have a neighbor move in that you just can't feel too comfortable living beside...especially if you are in a neighborhood where these types of actions, attitudes and activities are not at all normal.
You have to watch that you don't become the neighbor they can deduce is calling the police all the time, complaining to Social services about, city by-law officers etc. but in the same token you can't let them rule the roost either.
I don't know what you mean by property owners being out of state...the property is not owned by the house owners? These are condos? Not certain...if these are condos, then there ARE rules and if not followed and adhered to the Corporation can take action to have them removed. If you are in a Condo environment check with the Corporation and determine what constitutes appropriate and acceptable conduct and have them determine whether these people are within the proper guidelines. If the land itself is owned by someone else, again, what goes on is still a matter of regulations and the land owner must have 'conduct becoming' clauses in place.
If the land and house are owned by someone who is renting to them currently...still contact the owner and explain the concerns you have...getting a number of other neighbors together about this might assist further. You may all have children for whom you have a right to be concerned about. The actions going on will definitely cause all of you unnecessary concern...
Can't say for positive if any of these steps will stop them from actually remaining there...(of course you could do the 'Burbs thing and band together to get rid of them on your own) but don't recommend any singular or group actions that don't remain in keeping with the law, regulations or safety and reasonable expectations of a safe and comfortable living environment.
Good luck

OMG this is so weird! My sister in law has literally the exact same problem! He neighbors are the same way. The guy cut his finger off, he beats his girlfriend outside for all to see, their place looks like a junkyard, and their chimney fell in their yard too! They too will sit out on their porch and smoke pot and she hates it cuz her kids playing outside can see it. We suspect that they are dealing drugs and people come and go over there all the time. She just keeps calling the city on them every chance she gets! Hang in there and maybe they'll go to jail soon!

I am sorry to hear about your neighbors, I have some rotten ones too! The only thing you can do is contact the City Council constantly, call the police whenever they are out line, etc, hopefully the city will evict them after they pressure the property owner to do something.

unfortunately, you can't always choose your neighbors.
i realized this when crappy people started moving in across from my parents. the biggest issue with them was that they used to take parking spaces that other neighbors had been parking in for decades! it was awful.
anyway....
i would check into city ordinances about this. take pictures and and send them, with letters to the property owners.
get a petition signed by the everyone in the neighborhood to get them to clean up their yard.
there isn't much you can do about the dad slitting his wrists. you can only hope CPS is helping those poor kids. as for the affect they have on your property value, that you can try to combat by petitioning them clean up their property. the only big problem is that if they don't own, then they may not be obligated to clean it up and you may end up fighting with the property owners.
frankly, if i got crappy neighbors, then i'd wait it out to see if they moved. if not, then i would try to sell my house and move. once a bad seed moves in others usually follow.
take care:)

Write or call all these people repeatedly. Especially the owners! Keep copies of your letters and make them sign for them so you have proof. If nothing is done call the city hall and find out how to report them as slum lords. Persistence is the key here. Good luck...
