When I was younger (MUCH YOUNGER) I had a friend who used to do this out of malice to parked cars. Of course, he was drunk.

What does this do to the engine, and was any actual damage being done by perpetrating urine into the system of the vehicle?

Hey bungee, I realize it's normal to think it was ME rather than "a friend".. However, this is not the case. And it was actually over 23 years ago. I don't think the police has either the interest, or man power, or ability to prove that a guy pissed in a car's gas tank a quarter of a century ago

This is the same as putting water in a gas tank. The water is heavier than the fuel, and so sinks to the bottom of the tank where the fuel pickup is. Most gasoline has the ability to absorb some moisture without keeping the car from running, but if there's too much water, the car may not run. The water may also corrode the gas tank causing rust to clog the fuel filter, and perhaps necessitate the replacement of the tank. No damage would occur to the engine, though. Pretty harmless, for the most part. Now SUGAR, on the other hand, if your friend was a severe diabetic and had sugar in his urine, could cause massive carbon build up in the combustion chambers of the engine, causing damage. But your friend would have to pee in the same gas tank numerous times.

I suspect it was you rather than a friend, but if there was alcohol or drugs in the urine it could cause the car to fail the emissions test and be subject to impound by the local police.

its not different than putting water in someones gas tank. the urine is not combustable, so its weakens the fuels ability to combust. it would typically make the car run very poorly.

This is an impressive fear of stupidity. Assuming this were legitimate, it would be unlikely your ursine would effect performance much unless that were all it were firing. Other wise the gasoline would dilute it, resulting in lowered performance but still running.

no real damage unless the tank was pretty low, then it could cause it to not start, but as soon as they got fresh gas in it would be fine
