Easily. I didn't own a tv for over 5 years in my 20s and never missed it one bit. Too busy living life and being out with my friends.
Even now, the tv is never on during the day ever...only when the kids get home and then if I sit down to watch it's usually something the kids dragged me in to watch with them.
I do enjoy the computer because it's educational but I hate it too because it's turned society into a bunch of lazy indoor slobs...*S*
