could you imagine how crowded the world would be if there wasn't tobacco?

No it is not. First, nobody is forced to use tobacco products. Second, tobacco played an important part in helping to develop the ecenomy of colonial United States. It was a huge cash crop and one of the most heavily traded commodities in early America. Third, tobacco was not a modern discovery. The Aztecs and Incans used tobacco for hundreds of years before any European set foot in central or south america.

tobacco is refined on purpose in this day and age to be more potent and addictive. It probably was not abused by the american indians. Cocaine is another drug that could have had medicinal use if greedy people had not figured out how to refine it. They used to put in the original Coco Cola, did you know that.

gunpowder is an ancient invention also. remember if it wasn't for gunpowder the Indigenous People ( Native Americans - First Nation People ) would have defeated the European invaders

Tobacco was used for Sacred Ceremonies rather than every day smoking as Europeans use it.

No, 'cause it's not modern. Tobacco has been in use for centuries. The refinement and mass production, mass marketing of tobacco is another question.

Yes, it is, and the smell goes with it! People who smoke do not have good sense...Why would you fill your body with all that nicotine, anyway? Just so, we that are left, can pay all your medical bills? Such a bad, bad, habit...

tobacco use is documented in mummies, so it goes back at least 3000 years. so the answer would be no.
