Marraige was created by God as an institution and covenant not to be entered into lightly but to be entered into with God in the center of it all and He is the head of the marriage and of the Husband. We are to leave our father and mother and cleave unto our spouse. Marriage is honourable because it was created by God to be as such! Anything that God creates is good and honorable and to be enjoyed and treasured. It is a union of a man and woman with vows made to each other promised before God and family and friends to have and to hold forsaking all others through good times and bad, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health to love and honor and respect each other till death do we part .... It is NOT till we get bored and cant take it any more or just want out that we part. Our vows should men something. If we break our vows we are breaking our promise and vow and covenant that we make and promised to our spouse in front of a Holy and Soverign God!

First, as a Christian, I believe that marriage is the joining together by God of two people. Like God created Eve for Adam, there were naked and unashamed one with another.

Second, marriage is the earthy metaphor for how God woos us and wants us to be faithful to him. Much like a husband and wife are called to forsake all others for one another, we are called to forsake our sinful ways to be true to God. We, the church is often called the "Bride of Christ"

So, I believe that our earthy marriages are "training" for how we are to live with God in eternity.

God doesn't give up on us, in our sinful condition, so why would we give up on our spouses?
