That was suppose to explain a few things and I let my son watch american idol and I missed the show that explained sometihings. If so, what did they explain, that I missed???

It was the Lost Survival Guide. It was pretty much a recap of everything in Lost so far--from the very beginning, the crash. The recap was narrated by the creators Carlton Cuse, and Damon Lindelof (who by the way also have a yahoo questions or answers account) and narrated by someone else too. It was for viewers who needed to refresh their memory, or for people that were interested in starting to watch the show.

oh you mean the "lost survivor guide". It was the cheesiest thing I've ever seen. I was expecting so much more, it was a re-cap of most of season one and some of season 2. It didn't even show where the characters left off on the last episode before last night. It seemed to me like it was the producers/writers (which were talking through the whole thing) begging the public to watch thier show. I was expecting so much more, you missed nothing trust me. Last night's episode however was pretty interesting, not what I thought it was going to be but still good.

It was just a recap episode of all the events from the Pilot episode up until episode 6 of season 3. You didn't miss anything.
