I'm baffled that politicians, media pundits, etc are continuously saying things like 'If we do so and so we're sending the wrong message to our enemies...'

Are we so easily influenced by what our enemies think of us? Is it even possible we will ever win over Osama Bin Laden? Does anyone else think this is rediculous? We should not be basing policy on what people who hate us MIGHT think.

Also saying things like that is rediculous, since the enemies are hearing that as well. Imagine if your father said to you 'son, you need to so and so...' and your parents went into a different room where you could still hear them and your mom said, 'You're sending him the wrong message, we should tell him this instead...'

Military use and political action should be OBJECTIVE based, not done out of fear what our enemies might 'think' about us.

That just about sums it up. And seriously, do you really think anybody would think too highly about a country that did what it did out of concern of how their enemy would feel. That's High School mature; going to a dance you don't want to just to spite someone who said you wouldn't.

Well first of all. we have to think deep who created OSAMA BIN LADEN and who supported OSAMA BIN LADEN in the beginning ....

well my Friends who supported Osama was the Americans they were the ones who introduced him as an American allay against Russians in early 80's and after that when he started to realize that his mission is over after cold war has finished .......... his turn now is to do the same to America as they turned him against Russians he turned against Americans ............

at last let us be subjective and objective ..................take a deep breath and think who is more power full Saddam or Osama.

For sure its Saddam, as he had a whole ruling system ......and that does not exists in Osama's case ........

so..... do u think if USA could catch Saddam why they could not catch Osama ............well my Friends .... believe if Americans wanted Osamas' Head they will get it TOM.

But America needs Osama especially BUSH ..... why do u think BUSH has won the election this time....... because only and only just one day before the elections Osama appears on TV and starts throwing un reasonable threats on USA ......

Moreover USA is interested in staying in middle east and Gulf area as its full of oil and gas ........... its a gold mine and if they get Osama they will never be able to have this in their hands .

BUSH family and Osama Bin Laden Family have huge investment in Texas and saudi exceeds 900 Billion Dollars .......

SO WAKE UP GUYS and ANALYZE it in the right manner ..

Of course he likes you! As a matter of fact, go pay a visit with him in some caves on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan and bring an American flag with you! Wave it proudly! That will make him like you more.

You are completely missing the point. You don't want to send the message to your enemy that you are thinking of quiting the fight (even if you are) because then he will have no incentive to quit the fight himself.

Yes, you should run over and find him. I warn you though he has twenty wives to kill. So bring extra knives, twenty body bags and lots of diapers.
