It was most likely an inch worm of possibly a clothes moth caterpillar. It is not dangerous to you, but your clothes may be in jeopardy. If it is the first time you have ever seen one, then there probably isn't a problem, it could be just a little caterpillar that crawled into your home, or you brushed by it and it hitched a ride.

Insect larvae come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colours...I don't want to scare you but it could Even be something like a fly larva or maggot, that was picked up on your clothes, you can pick these up anywhere, even if your clothes are dirty.

One very common household pest is the Dermestid or carpet beetle larvae, they are tiny wiggly brownish worms that live in dusty places. They eat things like skin cells, and hair, so they are not danger, and they don't carry disease.

er... there are over 4 Phyla of animals that are "worm-shaped" so you'll have to be a bit more specific as to what you saw.

Some "worms" Flatworms (Tapes, Flukes, "free-living" Turbellarians), Segmented Worms (Earthworms, Bristle, Fire, Christmas Tree, Tubeworm, Tubifex), Roundworms (Vinegar, White, Ascaris, Heartworms, Guinea), Peanut Worms, Ribbon Worms, Tongue Worms, Acorn Worms, Beard Worms; and Vestimentaferans.
