In the 70's I recall alot of polyester. I wore what Cindy and Jan wore on the Brady Bunch. In the late 70's I was really into my pink satin jacket that said "Roller Queen" on the back.
In the 80's, Jeans tucked into boots with legwarmers, the layered Flashdance sweatshirt style. I also remember the Asian fad with the black fabric slipper shoes and quilted Asian style jackets. Oh! And don't forget the Members only jackets.
Designer Jeans were big too. Sasson, Jordache, Sergio Valente. I had them all.

Sorry, wasn’t born early enough to catch the 70's and too little to realize what I wore in the 80's.
But, I have attended many dress up parties, I definitely wore the glitter, gym shoes with heels (I think they are back in style now) and a flower, bell bottom pants (purple and pink).

Bell bottoms. "Male" brand jeans had huge flares on them. Lets see....Lacoste Izod shirts that were longer in the back than in the front, royal blue Nike's with silver "swoosh" symbol.
In the '80s I dressed new wave-dang, I miss my nylon super-tight parachute pants! Hoodie shirts with no sleeves. I looked like an extra on a video. I switch over to combat boots, black clothing, and trench coats-doing my part as a semi-goth.
Hair:
1.dyed blue-black and spiked
2. the dreaded mullet
3.shaved on the sides, spiked on top, with a rat-tail that was braided.

1970s I was in High School and the clothes of the day were tight thin wale Levis corduroys or Levis jeans (straight leg and naturally faded not bleached) , a button down oxford shirt in a solid color or small gingham pattern or a cotton t-shirt plain or with a saying on it no logos except funny ones or rock band, suede nylon jogging shoes or earth shoes. I could wear these clothes every day of my high school career and not be out of place.

And an extremely lovable short sleeve blouse. purely remeber do not positioned on quite a number of black, because it attracts quite a number of heat.

Hip hugger jeans that were so long the bottoms got frayed. Platform shoes, tie dyed clothes, long hair, dresses that had shorts underneath, peace symols and the aroma of "mary jane". That was the 70's.
