It would really depend on the situation. If you still love the person and there may be a chance of getting back together I played "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx over and over again.

Then there is the love that you will still have for that person but its time to move on. For inspiration you might wanna listen to
"I will Love Again" by Lara Fabian. Personally I think its a very beautiful song, she has an amazing voice (listen to her live clips) and though it covers the subject, its more a motivational song to tell you that there is more out there. Chorus goes as follows:
I will love again
Though my heart is breaking
I will love again
Stronger than before
I will love again
Even if it takes a lifetime to get over you
Heaven only knows
I will love again

Then, for laughs, listen to "Not the First" by In Full Color. Its eurodance style, same message but just upbeat and happy sounding. Chorus goes as follows:
You were not the first
Sure won't be the last
Close the door behind you
You belong to my past
There will be no tears
Sure won't be no doubt
You are moving out

There are plenty....

If yr partner is a jerk, you may like these songs:-
Irreplaceable - Beyonce,
Call me when you are sober - evanescence
Avril lavigne - My happy ending...
All American Rejects - It ends tonight...

But if your partner is a darling and you are still in love wif her/him:- these songs might touch your heart:-
Incomplete - Backstreet boys,
5ive - invincible
My immortal - Evanescence...
Bosson - its hard to say goodbye

There are thousands of songs out there but i can't list out all of it... I understand the feeling of being dumped and all i can say is that its not a very good feeling... Dun listen to these sad songs too much as it will only trigger your tears and bring you back to memory lane which only make the letting go more difficult... Its ok to cry and release all the hurt inside you but after sometime you need to move on wif life... And the hurt will heal and go away as time passes by.....
