At this point, I'd have to say the X1950Pro. The simple reason is I'm using Vista, nvidia driver support under Vista is horrible at best and at worst they cause games to crash. nvidia drivers also do not support SLi under Vista yet. I say ATi for the mere fact that their Vista drivers are far superior to what nvidia is currently offering.

How many times better, that's a figure you really can't quantify in that way. The 8800GTX is by far the single most fastest DirectX 9 card on the market. DirectX 10 is still untested but I wouldn't spend $600+ for a graphics card either.

I would wait for the 8800GTS 320MB version which is supposed to be right around $275. Or wait for the 8600 series which will be in the $120 to $250 range.

They both decent cards, I like the 7900gt a little more just because it can pump out to 24 pixel pipelines at a time, compared to 8-16 on most cards.. 8800 GTX is sexy but there is just no need for it right now, dx10 is still buggy as hell anyways and there will be cheaper dx10 cards to come out..
