Basically what is it like there for a 2 week trip.

Please don't let these folks fool you!
It use to be a pretty place back in the forties.. but it is now a filthy place and it would break my heart for you to spend all your money and go there!
I live in Southern California and I know!
If you want to go to a nice place, I would go to Newport Beach, Laguna Beach even Huntington Beach if you want to be within commuting distance from the Hollywood scene.
San Diego and Santa Barbara are beautiful but a good distance from the Hollywood scene.
