Paul Hausser, received the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds for his tactical Leadership of the II SS Panzer Corps during the 3rd Battle of Kharkov which beat back a Red Army 7 times his size.
Michael Wittman, received Oakleaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Wittman's Tiger destroyed 30 Soviet Tanks at the 3rd Battle of Kharkov. Outside of Caen, Wittman's Tiger stopped an entire Canadian Division. He had the highest number of kills of both sides during the war.
Irwin Rommel, as general of the 7th Panzer Division, he was the spearhead to many of the breakthoughs during the Battle of France. What more can be said of his leadership of the Africa Corp.
Heinz Guderian, panzer general, who wrote the book on armoured tactics used during WWII.
Kurt "Panzer" Meyer, also the holder of Oakleaves with Swords to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and was present at Kharkov and Normandy. At 33 years of age, he had become the youngest divisional commander of the war (12th SS).

Panzer Meyer, commander of the 12th SS (Hitler youth) division in Normandy, and Joachim Pieper were two famous German tank aces. If you're referring to officers at high command level then Rommel and Guderian were considered to be expert tacticians in armoured warfare.
