They are not the almost invincible Aussies a year back. They are tasting defeat now and then and their wins are also not so convincing as before. They are on the decline though only slightly.
That should enhance the chances of other teams,They have an edge over others.
Indians are regrouping themselves. They are the dark horses.

While in the current form Australia are the hot favourites, since cricket is a game of uncertainties, nothing can be predicted for sure at this stage. Teams like South Africa, India, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and New Zeland are capable of causing upsets

I don't think it's as clear cut as people think. Most teams have at least one match winner in the side.

West Indies are at home. Lara

South Africa and Pakistan are playing some cracking one day cricket, in the series, currently being played.
Kallis and Mohamed Yousef.

India's batting is really strong.
Tendulker leading the way.

Sri Lanka have a very good side.
Jayaseria, (Is that how you spell it)?

But, I still take Australia to win, just.

Australia is going thru a loss of players to retirement and injury and only have one more game(twenty20) to play before heading to the carribean for the world cup,If Symonds can return from injury and if Stuart Clarke plays , i feel they may regain the form of which they are famous. But they really need to hit the nets and sort out thier batting to be in with a chance of securing their 3rd consecutive series..here's hoping anyway.Cheers

Aussies are favourites and justly so, but the possible loss of Symonds will hurt them. SA are probably #2 after that, but the lack of pace in the Caribbean pitches will adversely affect Ntini and Nel. Pakistan don't have the consistency but can beat anyone, India's fielding and seam bowling is substandard but they could put up huge totals. WI have to be worth a shot on home turf, watch for Ian Bradshaw to have one of the best economy rates, and Gayle is a huge hitter and difficult bowler to get away. SL depend too much on their over-30s, NZ will struggle now without Astle and Mills, and England need a settled opening pair, decent seamers (Anderson and Lewis if they come back) and Michael Vaughan to captain (although we could do with someone to bat for him!)

england seem to be hitting some form at last, so look out when pieterson gets back from injury. but then i again i cant see much further than australia winning and would have to put forward sri lanka as the dark horses.

I really don't think Australia are the giants they used to be, my money is riding on South Africa. I just think they are a better unit. Though my heart wants England to Win. I think it will be SA.

aussies are favourites but over the past lose of some key players have resulted in the weakness of the side.though the young players are doing well.sa should give them a good fight.india is looking stronger.don't forget the west indies in their home ground.they have lara

Very hard to look past Australia as worthy favourites. They'll miss Symonds if he isn't fit.
An outside candidate may be SriLanka
