It means relating to or denoting numbers. So if a question asks you to find the numerical value of something then the answer will be a number.
Remember that if the answer requires units then you must state these as well, not just the number. For example, a length of 10 must say if it is cm, inches, miles etc.
Also remember that NUMBERS covers far more than the counting numbers, 1.2.3. etc. Fractions (1/4), decimals (0.67), negative values (-8) and square roots are all numbers. They are known as the REAL NUMBERS. The other sort is IMAGINARY numbers but don't worry about that at this stage.
Watch out for giving any answer to the required degree of accuracy as well e.g. 2 dp or 4 sf.
Hope this bit of extra info. helps you.

What a bunch of two-pointers.
Yes numerical is about numbers.
Despite, when we talk about a numerical solution or a numerical method for solving something, we are talking about approximate solutions by numerical algorithms.
This is used when you have a equation that can not be solved by algebraic methods (solving for x, or something like that), or is to complicated to solve. You use a computer that "test" possible solutions, with an iterative method, approximating the solution as much as you want.
Nowadays the math world depends on this, there computational theorem provers, algorithms that do the heavy work of mathematicians. Despite there are some of them that not concur with this moderns methods.
