Median = the middle number

16.22 17.98 18.96 21.80 28.84 29.32

=> the median is between 18.96 and 21.80
or median =(18.96+21.80)/2 = 20.38

When you have an even set of numbers then the median is the mean of the middle two numbers. In this case the middle two numbers are $18.96 and $21.80. So if you take the mean (average) of those two numbers you will find the median of your date set, which is $20.38

$16.22, $17.98, $18.96, $21.80, $28.84, $29.32

arrange in ascending order. then take the two middle terms as this is an even number(6).

(18.96+21.80)/2
=$20.38
