my maiden name had 4 letters as did my married name, both short & boring, i want something creative or outlandish, i kinda thot about - Is Dead!! think about it! I have 3 children who whole heartedly support this change-and for them too!

i wanted Is-Dead as a hyphenated name, and my kids r 12, 13 & 16 and think thats fabulous, perhaps i shoulda said 1-i'm not sad, just ready to move on and 2-we're kinda like the addams family!!!

If you are going to change yours and the children's name. Ask them what they think. Make sure it is something you all can live with. If it is just your last name that you are changing, make it something that describes who and what you are.

Use your surname and be proud of it. Forget all the silly crap gimmick names and give respect to your ancestors. Change your hair colour if you want to be different but you are who you are.
