You can already see some of it now. Oil is running out and the price is showing it. It won't be long before it is $10 per gallon. The world is already very unstable as we fight over oil, and that promises to get worse. As they supply runs down further, it will be so expensive that few will be able to afford it, creating severe pressures on the world economy. If we give science half a chance, and promote it seriously, we should have creative and usable alternatives to oil soon. If we do not, what is going on in the Middle East will be but a dress rehearsal for the big show that will follow.

They are discovering new sites for oil, but eventually it will finish. However, our planet may die before that, because we are fast polluting our atmosphere and the environment. Thus, global warming may put an end to our "civilization". If the worst does not come, there will be new sources of energy. Bor and thorium minerals are said to be the energy sources of the future. I won't be surprised if new wars break out over who will control these. Search internet for these two minerals and guess which country has the most reserves.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. There are billions of untapped barrels. Having said that however; we need to continue to develop more earth friendly energy sources. Top energy corporations are constantly testing and modeling existing and new potential energy sources. Eventually I believe, these new sources will dramatically reduce the worlds dependence on crude oil. Do some on-line research on it. It is fascinating.
