Well i think ur wrong, i think every generation has had to face their own stress.. "our forefathers" faced stress from other countries trying to strike their claim on the US and take away our freedoms.. we had civil wars, there were issues with indians .. not to mention they were plagued with Disease, things that we can now be cured., plus their life spans werent on average as long as they are now..

Alot of the difference though was u didnt have the media as influential as it is now, Newspapers were basically their only real form of media for most people, and most commoners were illiterate so they couldnt read it to begin with..to know what was going on in the world.. or to even care.

They didnt have all the PRIVLEDGES that we take for granted now a days, there were no "free rides" in their life, they actually worked for every dime they had to "Survive"..tons of kids having to quit school at young ages to work on the farms, or to get jobs to help pay for food on the table.. not for T.V.'s , Flashy Stereo's, Game Systems.. CD's , Toys ..etc..

The families of back then were more concerned about taking care of their families, and having honor and pride in themselves , instead of having to be Flashy with their cars, houses.., Jewelry, Clothes..to earn peoples respect. etc.. In the past it was an Honor to be a part of the military.. people treated u with pride and respect, didnt spit on u as u walked down the street... But yet when all hell breaks loose those same people spitting on our soldiers are the first to cry "Wheres the military" .. And their the ones that will chant and cheer how we are a "bad azz country" but yet they arent the ones that did anything to make it be.. they are the hypocites of our society.. Want u when i need u.. but screw u when i dont.. .. Same people that hardly step foot in a church, only live by the bible when its "convient" for them.. yet the first moment of trouble in their lifes, their praying to god to save them...

Our society has become to be alot of whiney, spoiled , lazy brats, that expect life to come to them instead of making something of their life.. and at the first sign of trouble they want to run for the hills..
Every where u look, u see it more as a common practice then as a rarity.. marriages failing, children running the street, crime rate , politics, welfare, the "you owe me" for something that happened centuries ago crap.. , all the hate, disrespect, the racism, .. the more division in our lives, the worse it becomes.. and it sux that the only time now in our country that u see people actually pulling together, actting as one.. is when a disaster happens, but even then after the dust fades and the rain stops, then people find ways of destroying that too and causing division again..

Im so sick of all these activists that are doing the "feel sorry" for them additudes.. maybe if we were more strict with people they'd actually be alittle more frightened of actually committing the crimes.. Those that had strict fathers.. that u were intimidated by.. u thought about it before doing something bad why? cause u were afraid of the punishment, those that had easy going parents.. smacked u on the hand and nothing more, u werent frightened to get in trouble.. so u did the deeds with out a second thought..

Same same, why should criminals be scared if all their going to get is a slap on the wrist..
We've become a society that worries about "Feelings and Emotions" more then Safety, Protection, and Life...

We have become a pathetic nation, and untill we as a people realize that, and actually do something to make a real change.. its only going to get worse.. and where does it start..? It starts at home, it starts by being accountable for your actions, being mature enough to actually live by vows u make, standing by the children u have.. and not running from ur responsibilities , its about raising children to have respect not only for themselves but for others, its about teaching kids that hate , racisim , being prejudice , is wrong.. its about being real MEN and WOMEN again, and being actual role models that our children can look up to again and respect.. teaching them how to work harder when problems arise instead of running away from problems like a coward.. Teaching boys to grow up to be "Real" men and not little boys trapped in men's bodies.. that believe that every woman has to act like June Cleaver, yet look like Angelina Jolie.., Teach men to actually Work for a living , be proud of their jobs even if their not the best of them, know that its HONEST work, and nothing is wrong with HONEST work, instead of trying to scheme and plot to make the fast buck.. Girls to have pride in themselves.. again.. to not destroy their lives by trying to look like a **** when they are going to school at age 14 then wondering why their pregnant at age 16..
To teach our kids that tv shows, and music , and movies that are based on disrespect, sex, and hate, are innappropriate instead of being idolized..

Everyone wants the world to change.. but what are u doing.. to try and make that difference? Whats most of the country doing to make that difference??

You wrote: "If we keep on blaming religion all the problems of the world will aggravate to its maximum possible. Religion has kept the hopes of man alive through the centuries." Are you insane? Religious fundamentalism is the greatest threat to humanity. Let's take a look at Christianity. First, they wantonly and deliberately destroyed over 1,000 years worth of the accumulated knowledge and wisdom of the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, and other advanced civilizations in the area, because it was 'non-biblical'... then they tortured and killed everybody who was capable of independent thought... then they suppressed scholarsip for ANOTHER 1,000 years. I am fond of saying that if it had not been for Christianity, Christopher Columbus would probably have been embarking on an expedition to the asteroid belt, to set up a mining colony or somehing like that, rather than setting out on a wooden ship to see if he could find a shortcut to the Orient. It will take us another 600 years, minimum, to get to where we should be RIGHT NOW, had it not been for the gentle mercies of Christianity. Yet, there are Christian fundamentalists who would have us RETURN to the Dark Ages.... look up 'dominionism'. Islam is STILL in the Dark Ages... and they will remain so, until the experience an 'Enlightenment' and an 'Age of Reason', such as occurred in Europe 400 years ago.

How would you like it if your livelihood depended on raising a crop, but a late spring frost wiped it out? What if your child had a deadly infection, but antibiotics had not yet been invented? What if you were a kid working in a factory because labor laws had not yet been instituted? What if you were persecuted for practicing your religion, or were arrested for witchcraft? What if you had to keep a fire to stay warm through the night, but you knew that a single ember could burn down your house, and there is no such thing as a smoke detector? I call that stress! Our forefathers experienced stress almost beyond our capacity to imagine.

What are you talking about? You must be one of those 'everything was better in the past' nostaligic types. You know, that will soon lead you down the path of "it's the end times. this is a sign of satan." or some other crap. Newsflash, our 'forefathers' also had stress. Things just weren't so damn emo 'back in the day'.

Your forefathers never faced stress? Sorry, sonny, but that's a fairy tale. You go find whomever told you that and smack 'em upside the head!
That tale would suggest that neither disease, accident nor malice ever threatened your forefathers. Noone ever attempted to rob any of them nor attempted to enslave them. Nobody ever cheated any of them, no dog ever nipped at their heels, nor did Plague, Smallpox, Malaria or Tuberculosis ever threaten their lives. War nor the threat of war never stirred their communities and famine never, never stalked the landscape. Want and deprivation were foreign to them. Ri*iii*ight!
If you believe any of that, I have an oceanfront condo in Arizona I'll sell ya real cheap! You can pay for it from the profits you'll earn on the bridge I'll sell ya first!

Because of our complex life style and lack of positive attitude towards life and other people. Our forefathers had a simple life and clarity of thoughts.

They did stress out but in times gone by it was a sign of weekness if they spoke about it.

So they just got on with it.

These days we are an over privilages society of stress heads and whinges.

We moan about anything.

They had their own stresses, such as how do I keep that woman from eyeing my butt coz then they had no clothes. So times may have changed but the stress remains the same.
