Human beings are best. Send them a CV and call them a coupleof days later to check they have it. Find out the name of the person you spoke to and then call and ask for that person once a week asking what they have done with your CV in the last week. They will soon get sick of you and will activly push your CV for all the suitable jobs.

Online recruitment forms (Monster, CV.net etc.) are OK but you have to do the looking and apply to get the most use of them, they wont call you, you have to call them. Many online recruiters specialise in one job area (engineering, transport etc) and they are the best ones to target rather than general ones like monster.

I've had my CV on Monster for years. Although I'm not currently looking for a job I usually get around five calls a year from people interested in me! It's certainly worth it but not as the only way to be looking for a new job.

I put mine on Monster when I was job hunting. An agency contacted me about an employer who was looking for partucualr skills..it works.

agree with caroline. lot of job hunting sites can put resume out on, but employers do mass searches on keywords, obviously can't read thru a gazillion resumes. look at it as one way to get name out there, but just putting it out there is very unlikely to get you much activity. don't use on line search firms, if you want to work with recruiter(s) talk with human beings
