I will be 25 weeks on Saturday and I have had a terrible cold all this week. The only meds I have taken is Benadryl to help me sleep on Tuesday night and last night, and I took some liquid Tylenol for sore throat during the day yesterday. I have mainly just been drinking lost of OJ and sucking on succrets(they are on my approved drug list from doc).
But it seems the last couple days I have hardly felt my baby move, I know he is Ok because I have a dopplar at home and his heart rate was 155 this morning. Does me being sick affect him , or is is possible the Benadryl making him sleeping...thanks

Your sickness does not affect the baby, rather the medicine you take which is why you must always check with the doctor (as you have done). Yes the Benadryl could be making him less active than usual but if your doctor said you could take it then there is nothing to worry about.

More often than not, the baby is asleep when you are awake. Your movements rock the baby to sleep. Which is why one of the fetal movement tests is to sit quietly and then then count the baby's movements for the next hour. Also do this after you eat. If the meds you have taken are the safty list from doc than they should not be effcting the baby that much.

i've heard that whenever a pregnant woman gets sick at the beginning of her pregnancy the sickness continues till she delivers the baby(i think it's because the immune system becomes very weak) but i don't think such thing applies to you. Aslong as it isn't a blood- related sickness, i would'nt worry that much- and get some sleep- after visiting the doctor, that is.
