Can good friends ever be a substitute for family if you haven't got any or is family overrated anyway?

friends are often called as family...
and family can be considered as friends...
when friends is trusted by the whole family...
when friends are true and loyal to you...
when they teach you the right and wrong (if ever)...
sometimes...
family would often invite friends to dinner...or something...

family sometimes would say..
"ill be your friend..."
they say this because we often tell our personal problems to our friends... we are most open to our friends rather than our family...
family just want you to be open to them...

friends can be a substitute but only as a substitute... remember that you were given life by your family... and even though they're gone or overrated... they are still your family...

Yes for sure - alot of people come from less than loving happy families and they make thier own families from thier friends. It is not only possible but because in this case you choose your family you end up w people who you are actually compatible w and opposed to what mother nature just happens to hand you!

Friends, family, relatives, their just merely a "status" not more. I have two good friend, and we are so close. I care so much about them and they care about me too. Because of this bond, I consider them like my brother and sister, my family. The bottom line is when you care about someone and they care about you, they are your family and you are their family. I hope you get the feeling.

Yes they truly can! If you don't get along with your family or if they are no longer with you, a good friend can take their place. I have a few friends that are like sisters to me.
