Although there are many free anti-virus software programs on the web in my experience you should have one Internet security
anti-virus program that does the lot which should include,
spyware, adware, dialler's, joke program, remote access,
hack tools, trackware, keyloggers, email scanning,
Intrusion protection, phishing protection.
Instead of downloading software from different websites which could take up more space on your hard drive then a more conventional anti-virus program would do.
So which is the best security setup, ?
It has to be Norton Symantec Internet Security 2007
It is well worth the money, remember there is no free lunch,
for the free software might detect a virus but not able to remove it,
unlike Norton if it finds something and cant remove it the infection will be placed in quarantine so you stay safe and protected.

a firewall is defenitly needed in the first palce and then a good anti-virus
the main problem playing games on-line is you need to make a firewall exception and this is basically a hole in your firewall,too many holes make it easier for hackers to take over your p.c
this is because hackers use firewall scanning software which looks for vunrebilities in your p.c,s security and if its very bad then you become a target
this was the main problem with windows 98,it didnt have a default firewall like xp,s service pack 2 and it was so easy to hack,even for novice hackers
a anti-virus and anti-spyware are also required but just for the prevention of any incoming malware,the firewall is the most important,and it may be even worth getting a 3rd party firewall program such as the old favourite "zone alarm" from http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10039884.html,this has the added advantage of both incoming and outgoing scanning were as the windows xp firewall only scans incoming traffic
so you will need a) a good firewall b) anti virus/spyware

the best security system for the Internet is Zone Alarm it works as firewall so no body can access ur computer and also has anti-virus and anti spayware so , u can trust it , u also can hide ur IP address so no body can see ur computer when u r online ...
