I've purchased cheap tests before and they always seem to work if not then no lines will appear to let you know it is not valid. Maybe you are having an abnormal cycle right now. Or it could be stress there are numerous of things besides being pregnant unless you are trying to get pregnant but consult with your Dr.(gyn) and make sure. Half of the times its just that your period is a little abnormal. Congrats if you are pregnant!!!

I used to buy the most expensive pregnancy tests - the last one I bought was a generic from Wal-Mart. It worked wonderfully. I had no issues with it, in fact I got my results instantly! I didn't have to wait the 3-5min. like it said on the box. Within 15 seconds there were my results.

Only thing I can suggest is to wait another week, then go to a local store and pick up a test and try again. If it still comes up negative go in and see your doctor anyway. If you aren't pregnant then there's some other reason that you're period isn't showing up. So both are good reasons to get to the doctor.

They're actually not rubbish. If you were to peek inside the cabinets at your doctor's office, you're probably not going to find expensive brand-name pregnancy tests in there. 99 times out of 100 you're going to find cartonloads of generic pregnancy tests that look just like the ones in the dollar (or pound) store. I've heard more complaints about the digital tests than the cheap ones. I don't need pregnancy tests anymore, but the last one I took was a $3 generic from Target, and it gave me an extremely accurate Negative. Edit: Go ahead and take it tomorrow if you don't get your period. Just use first morning urine.

i only bought cheap ones.
I missed my period a few times and wasn't pregnant. Maybe your stressed? that's why (at least my doctor said) must have missed mine.
It was quite funny the next time I missed it and believed I was just stressed. When I missed it the month as well, I bought a CHEAP pregnancy test.
And i was positiv.
I think the expensive ones are the same, apart from the name on it.All you do is piss on it. Where is the point of spending a lot of money :)

If I were you I'd give it a week or so then test again if still no period, as you may have got your dates mixed up. Saying that my best friend was totally convinced she was pregnant and two clear blue tests showed negative on the Friday. On the Monday she visited her GP explained about the tests and how she was feeling, lo and behold she did a test for her and the result came back positive. If you too are convinced you are pregnant but keep getting negative results I'd visit your GP to find out for sure.

The cheapest I have paid for a pregnancy test is about £4-5 and they all confirmed I was pregnant. But if your unsure of the results buy a more expensive one and also book a doctors apps and get the doctors to do a pregnancy test for you, its free but the results may take a little while.

You may be just be late due to stress or anxiety. Sometimes this can effect your cycle, as can depression or weight loss. I wouldn't worry too much, but if you are concerned arrange an appointment with your practice nurse and they will take a blood test. I've had no problems with cheap test kits, so I think its save to say that it's unlikely you are pregnant.

Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.

I have used cheap ones and they work just as good as the ones that cost more. Maybe your not pregnant. Good luck!

The one that I used last time was only like 3 dollars (RM9) and it says it is 99% too. I had the urine test only like 3 days after I missed my period, it says positive and hey it was right! I went to the doctor few days after and the ultrasound shows that I was pregnant!
