I was watching the news the other morning, and saw a story about a man in Albany, NY, who used a stun gun to discipline his child. I posted a Q saying, "Would you use a stun gun to discipline your 18 month-old child?" and in the details I expressed my outrage at what a cruel society we live in. I received many responses from equally outraged people.

Yesterday morning, I went to sign in, and my account was gone....

I went to the Forum and posted a message asking why I had been suspended, and this was the response I got:

"MPKA66, your account was suspended from Yahoo! Answers for bodily harm. We do not take questions asking about using a stun gun on a new born lightly."

This is ridiculous, and very unfair. I have asked that they reexamine my suspension, because I did nothing wrong. Everyone who knows me on here knows that I would NEVER ask a Q like that for "fun". I am NOT a troll, and I DON'T get off on asking sick Qs!

What is YOUR opinion of all this?

You're right, it may have been a little too much, but think about all the others who will be reading your question. I guess what Yahoo! Answers was afraid of was the fact that it could give suggestions to any jerks out there on ways to harm people.

I think it's F'n garbage and Yahoo need to do more homework. I don't even think they read entire questions or monitor specific details. I think they just have a geek squad with a list of flagged keywords, and when one of them pops up, they hit the delete button. You should be entitled to your acount back, and maybe a class action suit (By the way, count me in for that, I went too long w/o my icy blue self because the Yahole couldn't get the Yamsters to work fast enough)

It's unfair,,,,,, and especially a parent who uses stun gun for his/her children just to discipline???? That's cruel. And like you,, I'll post it too. But I'm avoiding posting such violence here in Y!A. And I agree that a account that being suspended just because of a true story. And I'll disagree of being suspended!!! Hope it will work out!!!! Good Luck!

I know I think out of the box and I have mentioned this to them on more than one occasion, Why can't Yahoo have a Volunteer group of users who rotate and review contested violations and suspended accounts. Just a thought Oh yeah level 5 +

i agree that someone should have to review each suspension, i mean it's not as though you were advocating bodily harm at all. people bring up questions on war all the time, & that's mass bodily harm! if you bring up that kind of topic in order to condemn it at least you're people aware of the issues. it actually really irks me that your account was suspended now!!

The same thing happened to me when I was answering a question about an owl picking up pets and carrying them away. I know now that I cannot do that....
