Well saying just men play is a bit of a generalization. My friend and I and both of our girlfriends all play WoW on a regular basis. It is however a very time consuming and addictive game. It's caused problems between me and my significant other when we were playing on separate servers but now we make sure that a videogame doesn't come between us and our special time.
It's near Valentines day. Now's a great and romantic time to try and work out some form of compromise with your BF so that he can have his game AND not get on your bad side. If he's worth keeping im sure he'll be willing to work something out.

You would be very surprised at the amount of women that do play world of warcraft. Video games are to men as Dramas/reality tv/ soap opera's are a lot of women. They are just a form of entertainment. A way to get away relax have fun. But as time is counting more women are getting drawn into the world of video games at a increased amount. With Video game companies wanting to cap on what ever market share they can they are opening up to new ideas and ways to entice more women to play. But If your wife or g/f doesnt like it, its more that your spending more time with it then with her.

I play warcraft, as does my husband. We both love the game and I know several women who play as well. I don't think it can be considered just a "man" thing.
Occasionally one of us will become too addicted and stay up a few nights in a row to play and it tends to annoy the other person... its one of those things you need to do in moderation, as there are other things in life.
The same thing could probably be said for people who sit in front of the tv for hours and hours and hours...

I think men like it because it's very visually graphic and it's fighting and war and its magic, guns, knives, armor and all this kind of stuff. women don't like it because the don't like fights or wars and if their guy is playing it it means he's not paying attention to her.
But that said, there are quite a few females who play WoW.

I like to play wow with my boyfriend. We do raids together with our group and we do most quest together as well. He gets upset when I do a quest by myself and I will not lie, I get mad at him if he does a quest we said we'd do together by himself.
