do you know this book?

It is a childrens book i read it years ago (30ish) I'm sure it's called Dark Dreams but i don't know the author. it;s about a boy who keeps going into his dreams, there is a charactor called Joey Jay. thats all i can remember. Can anyone help thanks

Could it be "Dark Dreams" by CL Rinaldo? The boy is named Carlos and he befriends a grown man named Joey.
