Sealing shud continue.
Dear Catty, the argument u say that it will cause problems,I agree but if they dont seal the problems are not going to go away. People have misused the residential properties for commercial use, I agree the government was sleeping and did not act in time and stop when things were happening but now when the government is awake and wants to get rid of it illegal structures, illegal can not become legal coz it has been there for some time.
I agree with Sunjeev, u r not from Delhi so probably u dont realize the problem we have to face; come back from office u can not park your car coz your next door show room has sale and u can not park your park even in next block for same reasons or if your car is parked and have to go use your car urgently u can not coz some smartian parked his car behind urs and is away shopping.
The power and water is insufficient in Delhi and residential colonies get their quota limited, these commercial establishments make sure to over use and put the whole block into darkness.
Eve teasing, petty crimes as chain snatching is more rampant as markets are easy hubs of people intending to do so.
Kids can not go out to play or bicycle coz the road outside has more traffic it can accommodate.
You have to live all this to realize and much more problems you face as a person living in Delhi

The sealing should CONTINUE........... Let Sealing discontinue......and let's allow more people to open factories and shops at the Residential locations, and believe me living in Delhi is no better than living on other side of Heaven....that is HELL.....travelling 10 Kms in your vehicle or any means of transport can take 30 to 40 Minutes, Railways Station, Bus Service, Roads, Infra, Power supply, every thing is in BAD SHAPE, and if we progress this way....you can see where are we heading to.....
To Ashu :
Corporation was bribed to run these shops (or illegal encroachments), If somebody lives in your home for maybe 1 year (when you were away) and after one year he says since he was living there for one year not you, so that place belongs to him, How would it look like.....The place was given to people for living, not to open shops (which actually people did...after paying {maybe--HEFTY} bribess to Corp. and others), which can been seen as you were caught stealing and you paid to get released and still you were doing same (or rather paying them monthly for your convenience)....No...this is wrong....and if you feel it is right...I leave on others about your attitude towards this question
To CATTY:
Thank God....You don't live in Delhi.....For you The Superme Court of India (hope you know that) ordered in 1996 (or 97) that all Industries in Residential Area, shall be closed down....(due to Pollution thing)...OK....since then the Number of Industries in Delhi has rather increased than being shut down.....How do you see that......
The present issue is of Shops, OK DELHI MASTER PLAN allows to operate shops at certain Residential Places (they thought suitable), and that too without disturbing the neighbours, but that was never followed....Now there is a New Master Plan.....Let's see what will that do good to Delhi........
My brother has two shops, and he was offered a relocation after orders from Superme Court, which he took, and now he also says that shops should be closed down for Betterment of Delhi City.......So Everyone should also look for other convenience, and if they do so....I don't think anybody will have objections on Sealing being Continued.

NO..sealing in delhi must not be continued in ANY way....
u ask me why? i am NOT a resident of delhi yet,i can visualise the problems thats will arise
my reason is a very simple, but a very logical one at the same time: IT IS CREATING MORE PROBLEMS THAN IT WILL SOLVE....
displacement of people will never be a cure to a problem....it will only create more problems than it solves
i completely agree with ashu:where was the corporation 10 years AGO?
and to my above answere mr.sanjeev :i offer this argument and will further advise that FROM NOW atleast the government can put a stop to more n more illegal things coming up....but can u imagine all those places, all those people, all those industries that will be harmed?...can India afford the loss any more?
the above answerer has said that"let this continue"...why? why should we let it continue? we shouldnt! but then,...displacemnt is NO cure....
IT WILL CREATE MORE PROBLEMS THAN IT SOLVES
EDIT:
ok,this is to my next arguers: why SEAL them? why not find better ways? are there not better solutions?....u arent getting misplaced, what if it was U? what THEN? can u imagine those ppl who live on the pavements and owm small shops have NOWHERE to go?
i understand the pavement problem fully,so we can have sealings for that, but what bout the INDUSTRIES N ALL?
we CANT afford to lose them!
if they r taking up excess water, then,is sealing them for good the only option???? cant they have a new connection of water?
if they r polluting: cant we get anti-pollutant machines? that would by large BE BETTER than poisoning a single place!
and as for the children...tell me is it safe even othewise to let them roam about unprotected? we have to have PARKS for that purpose....
we can IMPROVE situations to very good....but sealing seems to be such an ultimate step that it seems improving will take lots of efforts....huh
TO SUNJEEV:
THAT is the corporation's problem!...WHY TO HELL DID IT LET THE INDUSTRIES CROP UP THERE ? WHY DID THEY NOT STOP THEM COMING UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! THATS STUPID!,,,,N NOW WHEN THEY HAVE COME UP N ARE ALIVE,KICKING N WORKING...ALL CORPORATIONS ARE HEADS-UP N SUDDENLY MOVING THEIR WAY ABOUT....D'U THINK WE CAN AFFORD THEIR LOSS NOW? DONT U THINK THAT IT WILL CREATE MORE PROBLEMS THAN IT SOLVES...U OBVIOUS MORON?

It should continue.
The shops at the road side are a menace for road traffic, to the air, for addition of undesirable and alien materials like excess carbon dioxide, oxides of sulphur and nitrogen which cause allergies, skin diseases, cancer and heart diseases. They have made a mess of Delhi, which is also the host/venue for the Commonwealth Games, 2010 where athletes from more than 40 countries are expected to arrive and participate.
Think, swimmers might get stuck in the sand on the yamuna while trying to practice.........

Yes. Wrong doers should must be penalised. Shopkeepers force janta to walk on road. Shopkeers are big culprits who eat all pavements. If they are in limit, there is no need of sealing. Shopkeeper eat road day by day.
