I see everyone talking about the arrested astronaut, with the centerpeice being her wearing diapers. Thats not much of a stretch, kinda an obvious method considering she's an astronaut. When i first read about this, what stood out to me was the "steel mallet, 4 inch knife, trash bags and RUBBER TUBING" Does no one realize what the RUBBER TUBING was for? It would enable her to cut off a persons limbs, yet keeping them alive by preventing death and/or unconsciousness from blood loss. That way she could keep her alive longer, submitting her to the torture of having more body parts cut off while being aware of it, and extracting all the possible info she wanted by promising a quick death. IM SICK OF HEARING ABOUT THE DARN DIAPERS is all im saying.

I find that interesting as well. Wearing diapers is par for the course with astronauts; bodily waste has to go SOMEWHERE, and they can't very well come in to use the bathroom when they're doing a space walk! I think perhaps it's very contrary in many ways to the way we think of astronauts, and the way we think of adults.

I'm no shrink, but I also suspect there's a bit of an issue with the fact that it's just a little too close to "potty humor" for the comfort of some; many people get fixated with the anal/genital region of the body early on, and have a problem with having to think about it in any sort of practical sense. Relieving oneself in diapers is something we were all taught to QUIT doing very early in childhood, so someone who is willing to do so for whatever reason just seems strange to many people to the point of disgust.

I find it shocking that you would know all of that just from hearing about rubber tubing. Sounds like the people that were shocked about the diapers would have never imagined such a sick thought. People are most shocked about the diapers because that's a pretty nasty thing to do. So what if she is an astronaut, that doesn't mean she needs to wear the diapers when she isn't in space. It should be disturbing to hear about such a thing. That means that she was determined to do whatever she was intending on doing and she wanted to make sure she didn't have to stop for any reason before she reached her goal. That to me is more shocking than the rubber tubing. Thank you.

lol because the diapers thing is disgusting!!! who in their right mind would just go on themselves...and keep driving!! that shows definite mental instability. yes, the other things that she had...shows that she was about to do some major damage...and fortunatley, she was not able to.
