Herb Sendek I believe was one of the better coaches at NC State. He took the pack to 5 consecutive NCAA tournaments. He is way better than sydney lowe. The only reason Sydney Lowe is doing "ok" right now is because of the players that Herb recruited for them. Brandon Costner, Courtney Fells, Engin Atsur, Mcauly....all of those players are star athletes and were recruited by Herb... And who did sydney recruit?? NOT ****.....Well tell me your opinions.

It will take time to see what kind of program Sidney Lowe will build and who he will recruit. Its pretty unfair to judge it this early in the game. And you have to respect Sidney Lowe - he was part of the glory days of NC State basketball with Jimmy V. Give the guy a chance!!

I feel this way at this point.Herb was definitely a great addition for them and had them at a winning point.He made State into a decent program and with one or two extra players of quality, would have made it over the hump.However, when you dealing in a league with Duke and North Carolina, people want wins against those two, regardless of how the program going.I think Sidney will be a very good coach in time, heck, the players generally like him better than Sendek for his approach to the game and the fact he has already won at this level as a player. Herb definitely got a raw deal, but in the end, it worked out for both parties.(By the way, I'm doing this at N.C State's library).
