I allways find it amasingly ridiculus that people whant to take credit for things that clearly others knew about a long time ago. to those who do, you may as well be saying " look ive dicovered toast" .im specail.

Apparently, there was a hidden staircase in the temple. If no one discovered the staircase, that would seem to answer your question.
