The first thing is to eliminate as many bugs as you can from the digestive tract. I recommend the salt flush. (two heaping teaspoons of salt in two quarts of warm water, drunk after not eating for 12 hours--- plan on staying close to a bathroom for about an hour) Drink plenty of water, to dilute the toxins, and take charcoal to buffer them. The feeling bad is more from the waste products of dead germs than from the living germs. Stay warm, because the fever is the body's defense mechanism. For every degree your temperature is elevated, the white blood cells work about twice as hard to repel the invaders. If you have respiratory distress, get a cool mist humidifier, and add a pint of hydrogen peroxide to the gallon tank, and run that at night while you sleep.

not really much else you can do other than ride it out.

pushing fluids is really important so you don't get dehydrated. water, gatorade, and sprite (or similar) are the best things for you.

ibuprofen would be really helpful in helping ease your body aches and for lowering the fever (i know you said you didnt want to take medication). sometimes when you feel really sick-it's good to be symptom free, even for a little while. if you decide to take it, take 200-400mg every 6 hours needed but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours.

if you feel up to eating-eat plain, bland foods that will be easy on your stomach. the soup, jello, crackers, and toast are good.

sleep when you're body tells you to and drink plenty. hope you feel better soon

Same here, I had almost 40 degrees last night and it felt awful. I'm taking medication anyway. I have a sore throat and joints too. Some pills could work. I just don't want antibiotics for the rest is fine.

What I do is rub extra strength Ben Gay on my chest after a nice hot shower and it would do well for your back and joints too. I would drink plenty of clear fluids and get plenty of rest.
