Wel, i'm of the opinion that the GAA opened croke park for gaelic sports and Not for what would be described as foreign sports. I play both rugby and gaelic and both sports are great but croke park was built for gaelic games and the fact that they opened it to foreign sports shows the Gaa for the money grabbers they are...

I feel it's the national anthem of a country against which Ireland will be playing a sporting event, so it's only polite to play it.

And in any case, the Irish anthem is the one that's offensive to the English (calling us "tyrants" and "despots", and referring to the "saxon foe"), whereas our anthem asks for good, positive things, someone living a long time. Oh, and crushing rebellious Scots. But no mention of the Irish that I recall.

And I think it's 85 years since Ireland won independence, we're both European nations now, and it's time to look forward instead of back.

As a Welshman I have no strong opinion one way or the other. Although I always turn the sound off when the English anthem comes on.
