Vaseline and other lip balms work all the same. It is only the scent of the balm is different. And I think Vaseline costs more as well. But whatever it is, as long as it works for you, you don't have to worry so much about the price. Sometimes, if this brand works for you, it doesn't mean other brands also work for you. I think body shop lip balms are not as good as Neutrogena & Metholathum lip balms, sold in Watson's, Guardians & Walmarts.

Yes!
Lip Balms contain lots of chemicals. They usualy contain flavorings and sweeteners also. These cause you to lick your lips and this adds to the chapping problem.
Vaseline will in fact do about the same thing for you without the sweeteners and flavorings.
The cure for chapped lips is drink more water. Being dehydrated causes most chapped lips.
That is unless you do winter sports alot.
Hope this helps.

Yes and No. Carmex contains lots of chemicals including Salicylic acid (the same stuff in acne medications to dry your skin out) and menthol and camphor which is quite addictive because it feels good but actually dries your lips out more. Some lip balms just have flavorings and additives. My wife uses Vaseline intensive lip therapy because it is pretty much a handy carry form of Vaseline. Petroleum jelly is a good barrier that locks in moisture and locks out wind. They use it on baby bottoms for the same thing to keep the dirty diaper from touching the baby's skin. A moisture barrier of sorts.

Lip Stick is typically used for colour. Chap Stick and Lip Balm furnish an occlusive layer on the lip floor to seal moisture in lips and safeguard them from exterior exposure. Dry air, chilly temperatures, and wind all have a drying result on epidermis by drawing moisture remote from the physique. Lips are quite susceptible simply by fact the floor is so skinny, and for this reason they're often the 1st to modern-day signs and indications of dryness. Lip Gloss is used to furnish lips a mildly sleek look and specifically circumstances diffused colour.

scent and taste is different.
Really it is all the same thing. The only reason i would say to go for something other than vaseline is if that will get you to apply it more regularly. Also, a lot of other lip balms have spf in them.

Vaseline works better and is a fraction of the price.
LOL---really--I've tried many lip balms, and as far as "healing" chapped lips---nothing comes close to Vaseline.
