Me & my family plan to visit singapore next month. I heard from some travelers that you can visit Malaysia from Singapore within an hour just to have your passport stamped. Is this true and how can we get there(malaysia) from Singapore?

Malaysia and Singapore is seperated by sea, a very small straits at that. You can cross the straits to Johor Bahru by car. Heck there are people are still walk across the bridge.

When I traveled from Singapore to Malaysia I used the bus system. The bus station is very crowded and people will cram together to try to get on one of the leaving buses. Make sure your belongs are safe when everyone crowds together. Once I got to the next bus station there were a lot of people trying to convince foreigners to follow them, so be careful. When I was there the bus system was a lot cheaper than the train, but if you don't mind the price, I would recommend taking the train. I took the bus because it was cheaper and it had better hours for me because I needed to get back to KL as soon as possible. I found a site with the information so I will include it below:

Border Crossing from Singapore to Johor Baru
Take a bus from Arab street, non a/c #170 S$1.70, A/C Johor Bahru Express $2.4 Retain your ticket to Johor Baru bus station.
Get off at Singapore Immigration. Take all belonging with you.
To Exit Singapore, with foreign passport take counter #1 on the right.
Get back to the bus. You bus may leave without you. In this case you can take a next bus.
After crossing the bridge, get off at the Malaysia immigration.
With foreign passport, take #7 & 8 counter which are on the left.
If you need any Malaysian tourist information, the office is just BEFORE the immigration building so go first and get the info you need.
After the gate, turn left as you leave the building. Many people are waiting for the bus to the Johor Baru bus station.
If you need to go to the train station or the town center, it is just out side of the immigration, so do not get back to the bus.
The bus, #170 and a/c express, go to the bus station directly. No stopping between.

Malaysia is separated from Singapore by a narrow strait and accesible by 2 bridges with immigration checkpoints on both sides of the bridges. The second link is a much faster way to get into Malaysia, the southern part i mean. As Malaysia is the longest peninsular in the world, it will take u perhaps like 4 hours by car(depending on the speed) before u reach the capital, Kuala Lumpur.
The main link from Singapore to Malaysia can be a little busy on weekends and on public holidays as drones of people from both sides will be crossing the bridge. The state u will drive into as soon as u cross the bridge is the state of Johor. The neighbouring states would be Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang. The east coast would feature breathtaking beaches(long white sandy beaches) and islands well known among divers like tioman, Perhentian, Redang etc. On the west, u will pass by Melaka, the historical city of Malaysia(where it all began) with historical buildings left behind by the Portuguese(16th Century), the Dutch(17th Century) and the British(late 18th and early 19th century). 2 hours from Melaka would be Kuala Lumpur, the city that never sleeps.

Don't just stop there...travel up north to the northern states like Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis. Drive through limestone hills and cross the scenic Penang bridge and explore the beaches there. A favorite among Caucasians. During the month of August, watch green leather back turtles lay their eggs on the beaches of Terengganu, go trekking at the National Park of Taman Negara. But wait, theres more, Sabah and Sarawak on the East(a 3 hours flight from Kuala Lumpur) and be mesmerized by the unique cultures of the indigenous people there and climb the highest peak in South east Asia, Mt Kinabalu.

Enjoy....

Yes! Singapore's neighbour, Malaysia consists of 14 states which the nearest to Singapore is Johore. From Singapore, the nearest Malaysia state that you can visit to is Johore. It is possible for you to reach Johore within an hour. If you are in Johore then you get to travel to Singapore within hours depend on which places you are. Example: From Larkin Bus-interchange (Johore bus interchange), you can take buses to Singapore and it's possible to reach Singapore within an hour. However, please take note that Johore is quite a large state and you need to know where is your location each time you travelled. And you should take special attention on your safety and keep your important belongings such as travel documents and money by your side.
